- Heather
comes from a musical family in Cornwall, and started
performing in public aged 10.
She
made her professional debut in her teens singing with the
Gang of 4 on BBC's Whistle
Test with Eddi Reader.
- She studied
for 5 years at two leading conservatoires, Trinity College
of Music, London and
Guildhall School of Music and Drama with
Margaret Lensky and John Wakefield, becoming a Fellow and
Licenciate of Trinity in 1992.
- Heather is known for
being versatile and easy to work with
as a session singer. With instinctive
ability to harmonise and layer vocals.
- She delivers a wide
range of styles, from haunting celtic and mellow jazz to edgy
pop and dramatic colluratura soprano (hear Heather's showreel).
- Heather is an experienced Voiceover artist
and broadcaster.
She has recently been heard commentating for BBC radio on Celebrity Fame Academy for Comic Relief
- While
studying Heather was "moonlighting" as a Soul
and Jazz artiste with
Challenge Records and Fate productions
alongside Soul II Soul
singer Caron Wheeler.
- In 1990 Dame
Cleo Laine and John
Dankworth
awarded her the prestigious Wavendon Allmusician title
by for her unique ability
to perform across musical genres
and boundaries.
- Heather enjoys
challenging musical stereotypes and perceptions.
She was once recruited by English National Opera (while
6 months pregnant) to
appear on the Big Breakfast
singing operatic arias to
rush- hour motorists with Mark
Lamarr!
- She has worked with artists as diverse as Lenny
Henry, Katarina Karneus
and Marion Montgomery,
- Heather even
appeared in Doctor Who!

- Heather
is a qualified vocal coach and singing teacher with over 12
years experience teaching students of all ages and from all
backgrounds, and training in
hypnotherapy and relaxation techniques
from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. Heather holds
the Certificate in Life Coaching from Newcastle College. She
specialises in teaching adult
beginners and singers with confidence
and anxiety
issues.
She
believes passionately in the connection between singing and
mental, physical and
emotional well-being and is the subject
of articles in The Times, Here's Health, Woman & Home, Muso, Weight Watchers, Lighter Life and Bella Magazines as well as radio shows in the UK and overseas.
- Heather
has developed the Free
Your Voice method of vocal training
for individual students and
groups. She
wrote and produced the
popular CD's Free
Your Voice vocal workout
and Creative
Calm, a self-help CD to
overcome stage fright, which are
distributed worldwide.
Heather lives in North
London, is married and
has 3 children and a Labradoodle.
